A health services organization in New York City is actively seeking an experienced Unit Supervisor to join its Specialized Family Foster Care Program in Brooklyn.

About the Opportunity:
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Length: Ongoing 
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 9am to 5pm
  • Case Load Ratio:  1:4 subordinates
  • Patient Population:  0-25 yrs old population (Medically Fragile Infants - Toddlers mostly)
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a unit of 4 Case Planners responsible for approximately 48 cases collectively
  • Provide weekly individual supervision and monthly team supervision to address case-related practices, progress, and compliance with permanency target goals
  • Review and approve case documentation, including progress notes, Family Assessment & Service Plan (FASP), court reports, and permanency hearing report, etc.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of mandated documentation
  • Monitor case planning activity for compliance with agency policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support staff skill development in family engagement and service planning
  • Participate in hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary processes
  • Provide rotating on-call coverage to ensure 24/7 emergency response (PERM Only)
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • Must have 2 years of work experience in Foster Care
  • Master's Degree
  • NYS Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and/or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
  • Knowledge of ACS, OCFS, & related governmental agencies
  • Familiarity with Administration for Children Services (ACS), Office of Children Family Services (OCFS), Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD), and other relevant municipal and state agencies
  • Computer savvy
  • Microsoft Office proficient
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Experience in Child Welfare / Case Management
