A Fortune 50 financial services company is seeking a highly motivated Technical Product Owner to join their team in the McLean, Virginia area.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with stakeholders to define and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap aligned to organizational goals
- Own and prioritize the product backlog; refine user stories and technical requirements to ensure clarity and alignment with business priorities
- Translate business needs into technical solutions; collaborate closely with engineering teams and provide informed guidance and trade-off recommendations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for product decisions, ensuring productive communication between technical and non-technical teams
- Bridge communication across design, engineering, and business groups to maintain alignment and shared understanding
- Coordinate release schedules, set sprint goals, and ensure timely delivery of product increments
- Define acceptance criteria and participate in testing to validate that deliverables meet requirements and quality standards
- Gather feedback from users and stakeholders; evaluate market trends to drive continuous product improvement
- Identify risks, dependencies, and roadblocks; proactively address issues to support on-time delivery
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or similar role in an agile environment.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development or architecture
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.
Desired Skills:
- Advanced Degree
- Experience with cloud technologies, APIs, and modern software architectures
- Familiarity with UX/UI principles and design thinking.
- Certifications such as CSPO or SAFe POPM
