A leading organization in Downtown Brooklyn is seeking a Supervisor of Social Services. This role involves overseeing a team supporting families experiencing homelessness with a focus on leadership and program compliance.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm or 10 am–6 pm
- Setting: Hybrid (1 WFH day/week assigned by leadership)
Responsibilities:
- Supervising half of the case managers and their residents, including weekly 1:1s and performance evaluations
- Ensuring documentation and compliance with regulations, providing final sign-off before filing
- Participating in case conferences and managing crisis interventions
- Overseeing program operations including scheduling, events, and incident reporting
- Supporting hiring and HR functions, including interviewing and approving time cards
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience (flexible down to 1.5 years for strong candidates)
- Master's in Social Work (MSW)
- Strong leadership, documentation, communication, and organizational skills
- Excellent administrative skills; highly organized
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to social justice and equity
- Good time management skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Master’s degree in social work or related field
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Experience with individuals with histories of substance use, HIV, homelessness, and mental illness
