A New York City nonprofit services organization is seeking a new Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC / CASAC-T) to join their team. In this role, the Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) will be responsible for providing direct clinical services to clients enrolled in the company's Mother & Child Residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program.

About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
Responsibilities
- Maintain a caseload of up to 15 clients
- Provide individual substance use counseling sessions
- Facilitate group counseling sessions on a scheduled basis
- Orient clients to program goals, rules, rights, and expectations
- Address behavioral issues, crises, and treatment barriers as they arise
- Complete bi‑weekly progress notes and monthly treatment plans and treatment plan reviews
- Maintain accurate client charts in accordance with OASAS standards
- Complete all documentation in NextGen EHR (100% electronic)
- Prepare and submit court letters, progress reports, and compliance updates
- Coordinate care with courts, ACS, and other collateral providers
- Verify and document off‑site appointments, itineraries, and weekend passes
- Review weekly passports and confirm client attendance and engagement
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences
- Coordinate with Intake, Clinical Supervisor, and other program staff
- Follow clinical supervision and guidance from the Clinical Supervisor of SUD Services
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in an OASAS‑regulated SUD program
- Bachelor's Degree
- NYS CASAC and/or CASAC‑T licensures
- Residential SUD experience
- Strong clinical judgment and assessment skills
- Excellent documentation and time‑management abilities
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Ability to work under pressure and manage compliance deadlines
