A New York City nonprofit services organization is seeking a new Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC / CASAC-T) to join their team. In this role, the Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) will be responsible for providing direct clinical services to clients enrolled in the company's Mother & Child Residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Program.

 About the Opportunity:
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 9am to 5pm
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a caseload of up to 15 clients
  • Provide individual substance use counseling sessions
  • Facilitate group counseling sessions on a scheduled basis
  • Orient clients to program goals, rules, rights, and expectations
  • Address behavioral issues, crises, and treatment barriers as they arise
  • Complete bi‑weekly progress notes and monthly treatment plans and treatment plan reviews
  • Maintain accurate client charts in accordance with OASAS standards
  • Complete all documentation in NextGen EHR (100% electronic)
  • Prepare and submit court letters, progress reports, and compliance updates
  • Coordinate care with courts, ACS, and other collateral providers
  • Verify and document off‑site appointments, itineraries, and weekend passes
  • Review weekly passports and confirm client attendance and engagement
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences
  • Coordinate with Intake, Clinical Supervisor, and other program staff
  • Follow clinical supervision and guidance from the Clinical Supervisor of SUD Services
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience in an OASAS‑regulated SUD program
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • NYS CASAC and/or CASAC‑T licensures
  • Residential SUD experience 
  • Strong clinical judgment and assessment skills
  • Excellent documentation and time‑management abilities
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized 
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage compliance deadlines
Desired Skills:
  • Experience working with court‑involved populations
