A media company in New York is seeking a Senior QA Engineer for their Android team. It's a long-term contract, requiring a hybrid work arrangement with on-site presence four days a week.

About the Opportunity:
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: Standard business
  • Setting: Hybrid (4 days per week)
Responsibilities:
  • Leading the design and execution of a comprehensive QA strategy for Android SDKs
  • Developing and maintaining robust test coverage across various domains
  • Proactively improving video playback quality metrics
  • Investigating and resolving platform-specific issues
  • Collaborating with the Developers, Product Managers, and QA peers on projects
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of QA engineering experience, particularly with Android platforms
  • Ability to detect and report quality issues in streamed content
  • Awareness of Android device capabilities and technologies
  • Proficiency in XCTest, XCUITest, Appium, and media debugging tools
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Jira
  • Prior experience in OTT, DRM, or video playback testing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to balance quality and speed in dynamic environments
Desired Skills:
  • Scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash, Swift)
  • Familiarity with AirPlay, Dolby Vision, and playback technologies
  • Understanding of video streaming technologies
  • Experience with testing ad integrations
  • Experience with API validation for backend playback services
