A New York City-based specialized education provider is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to support pediatric students in Brooklyn. This role focuses on delivering individualized speech and language services within a multidisciplinary team serving students with complex medical and developmental needs.
About the Opportunity:
  • Shift: Day shift
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday
  • Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Setting: Onsite
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate students using standardized clinical assessment tools during initial, quarterly, and as-needed reviews.
  • Develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans based on assessment results and student progress.
  • Prepare and maintain individualized education programs and related documentation in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, paraprofessionals, nurses, and families.
  • Provide direct therapy, progress reporting, and support for students with complex communication and medical needs.
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field
  • Valid New York State Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility for licensure in New York State
  • Experience working with pediatric students ages 5 to 23
  • Background in a pediatric setting serving children with brain-based disorders or neurological involvement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Desired Skills:
  • Experience supporting students with traumatic brain injury, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or medically fragile needs
  • Familiarity with research-informed practice in an educational or clinical environment
  • Experience working with augmentative and assistive communication approaches
  • Exposure to interdisciplinary special education or school-based therapy teams
