A leading entertainment company in Central Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET). This role involves designing and building scalable test automation frameworks for our streaming platform, ensuring the integrity of video playback and API reliability.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Full-time
- Setting: Hybrid (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Responsibilities:
- Architecting and developing automated test frameworks for APIs, UI, and video components
- Validating streaming applications across web, mobile, and OTT devices
- Automating testing for adaptive bitrate streaming and playback scenarios
- Integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines
- Writing test plans and cases, and mentoring QA Engineers
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in test automation
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript)
- Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress)
- Solid understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, and API testing tools
- Experience with version control and CI/CD tools
- Excellent debugging and communication skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Exposure to OTT platforms or smart TV development environments
- Experience testing cross-platform apps (iOS, Android, Roku, etc.)
- Familiarity with streaming protocols and media playback components
