A leading financial institution in Vienna, VA is seeking a Senior SQL Developer for a hybrid role focusing on data querying and performance optimization.

About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: Standard business hours
- Setting: Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Responsibilities:
- Designing and optimizing complex SQL queries, including joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions
- Developing and maintaining database structures, indexes, and performance tuning strategies
- Translating business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa
- Partnering with non-technical stakeholders to communicate data insights and solutions
- Supporting reporting and dashboard development initiatives
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in SQL Development
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Advanced SQL skills (joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, indexing)
- Strong understanding of Database Performance tuning and optimization
- Knowledge of Procure-to-Pay systems and processes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong experience with SQL Server environments
- Experience with Coding languages such as Python, R, or JavaScript
- Experience with Power BI or other Dashboard/Reporting tools
- Exposure to Enterprise Financial or Procurement systems
- Strong business acumen and stakeholder engagement skills
