A top Fortune 50 financial institution is currently seeking a Data Scientist to support the Digital Analytics team’s growing digital data science department. This hybrid opportunity is open to candidates based in Vienna, VA; Winchester, VA; Pensacola, FL; or San Diego, CA. The role focuses on developing and implementing predictive models that enhance customer experience and drive digital engagement across web and mobile platforms.
About the Opportunity:
- Work Model: Hybrid 2x a week onsite standard
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
- Setting: Corporate / Digital Data Science Department
Responsibilities:
- Designing, developing, and implementing predictive and machine learning models to enhance digital products and customer experience
- Partnering with senior data scientists, business leaders, and developers to deliver actionable insights
- Writing clean, efficient Python and SQL code for data preparation, modeling, and analysis
- Applying techniques such as logistic regression, random forest, XGBoost, neural networks, NLP, clustering, and forecasting (ARIMA, Prophet)
- Evaluating model performance and communicating results through clear, data-driven storytelling
- Supporting automation, deployment, and continuous improvement of models and analytics tools
- Collaborating across Agile teams to contribute to ongoing projects and documentation best practices
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in Data Science, Statistics, or Data \Analytics
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, PySpark, or R
- Experience developing and evaluating Machine Learning models
- Familiarity with cloud and data environments such as Azure, Databricks, AWS, or Hadoop
- Excellent analytical storytelling and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
Desired Skills:
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
- Experience with project management tools (Azure DevOps, JIRA)
- Knowledge of financial services, banking, or digital analytics
- Ability to translate complex technical findings into actionable business insights
