A recognized educational network in New York City is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide health services to students and staff in a school-based setting in all 5 boroughs .
The ideal candidate will play a critical role in promoting the physical and emotional well-being of students and ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Grade Levels: Kindergarten - High School-aged Students
- Training will be provided before any placement in a school setting
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff as needed.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor their effects.
- Maintain and review student health and immunization records in compliance with NYC DOE and Department of Health regulations.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers to support students’ health needs.
- Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, temperature, etc.) and monitor for communicable illnesses.
- Support students with feeding or other medical accommodations as outlined in their care plans.
- Educate students and staff on health and wellness topics, including hygiene and disease prevention.
- Manage care and follow-up for students exhibiting communicable illness symptoms, following all DOE health protocols.
- Document all nursing services and maintain accurate, confidential health records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the school administration or nursing supervisor.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
- 1 + year of Nursing licensure
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Strong knowledge of Child & Adolescent Health, Immunization requirements, and Public Health regulations
- Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills
Desired Skills:
- NYC DOE Fingerprinted
- Experience working with children in an Educational or Pediatric setting
