A school-based healthcare organization in New York City is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time School Nurse position at one of its Manhattan locations. This role provides direct nursing care, supports student health needs, and helps maintain a safe, healthy learning environment for students across kindergarten through high school.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 5pm
- Setting: School-based
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff as needed
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor their effects
- Maintain and review student health and immunization records in compliance with public health requirements
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers to support student health needs
- Conduct health screenings and monitor for communicable illnesses
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of Nursing experience
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS/CPR certification
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Child & Adolescent Health, Immunization requirements, and Public Health regulations
- Experience supporting students with feeding or other medical accommodations
- Ability to document nursing services and maintain confidential health records
- Familiarity with Health Education topics, such as Hygiene and Disease Prevention
