A New York-based non-profit is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their OPWDD residential program in Brooklyn (Canarsie).
About the Opportunity:
- Location: Brooklyn, NY
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Hours: 30 hours/week
- Shift: Day shift (7–3, 8–4, or 9–5)
- Setting: OPWDD Residential (ICF)
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all medical care for OPWDD adult residents
- Conduct weekly face-to-face wellness checks and nursing assessments
- Coordinate medical appointments and follow-ups
- Ensure proper medication administration, storage, and compliance
- Review ER/urgent care visits and document per standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team (Medical Coordinators, Behavioral Specialist, DSPs)
- Participate in care planning and advocate for residents
Qualifications:
- Active NYS RN license
- OPWDD / I/DD experience preferred (not required)
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
- Willingness to complete training if no OPWDD experience
