A community services organization in New York City is seeking a new Residential Aide to work their Overnight shift, assisting in effective service delivery at a transitional housing site for men.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Saturday to Wednesday or Tuesday to Saturday
- Hours: 12am to 8am, must be able to work any day of the week
- Setting: Transitional Housing
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the area and providing resources to clients
- Maintaining a welcoming, safe, stable environment for clients
- Making hourly rounds to ensure safety and security
- Managing incidents, documenting and communicating with management
- Keeping records of attendance, shift reports, and progress notes
- Greeting and directing visitors
- Maintaining order and protecting property
- Conducting intakes, distributing mail
- Managing food deliveries and meal service
- Screening residents and visitors
- Transporting clients using a company vehicle
- Providing relief for 311 operations
- Facilitating onsite laundry and shower resources
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2 years of related experience
- High School Diploma / GED
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with individuals experiencing homelessness or mental health issues
- Ability to maintain professionalism and awareness in challenging situations
Desired Qualifications:
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
- CPR and First Aid certifications
- Ability to maintain calm in challenging tenant situations
