A housing nonprofit is seeking a Residential Aide (Evening Shift) in New York, NY to support a transitional housing program with resident monitoring, safety, and day-to-day operational assistance. This role is ideal for a dependable professional who can maintain a stable environment and provide attentive support during evening hours.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Evening shift
- Schedule: Wednesday through Sunday
- Hours: 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, with a 30-60 minute unpaid break
- Setting: Transitional housing
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the premises and provide resources and assistance to residents
- Help maintain a welcoming, safe, and stable environment
- Conduct hourly rounds inside and outside the facility to support safety and security
- Document incidents, complete shift reports, and maintain records such as attendance, visitors, and progress notes
- Greet visitors, screen residents and packages, distribute mail, and assist with intakes, deliveries, meals, laundry, and showers as needed
Qualifications:
- 2 years of related experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Desired Skills:
- Associate’s degree
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience supporting individuals experiencing homelessness
- Experience working with individuals with mental health or substance use challenges
- Narcan knowledge
- Crisis prevention experience
