A healthcare network in New York City is actively seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Stepdown team.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week and rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
- Hours: 7am to 7:30pm or 7pm to 7:30am
- Setting: Acute Care
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients with complex or unstable conditions transitioning from ICU
- Administer medications, IV drips, and titrate infusions as ordered
- Interpret cardiac rhythms, lab results, and vital trends to detect early signs of deterioration.
- Provide post-surgical and post-procedural care, including wound and drain management.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatments, and recovery plans
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments and interventions
- Respond rapidly to changes in patient status and initiate emergency protocols when needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a Stepdown and/or similar setting
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
- Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, and/or Medical-Surgical background
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with EPIC Electronic Medical Records system
