A healthcare network in New York City is looking add a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to their growing Internal Medicine team in Queens.

About the Opportunity:
  • Start:  ASAP
  • Schedule:  Monday to Friday
  • Hours:  8am to 5pm (some 6pm)
  • Setting:  Clinic
Responsibilities: 
  • Provide general nursing care to patients, including: administering prescribed medications and treatments
  • Assist with applicant screening, selection, training, providing feedback for performance evaluations, and providing information related to employee discipline and termination of staff
  • Prepare equipment and aid the Physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients
  • Prepare prescriptions or medication refills, for review and signature by provider
  • Contact patients with test results and provide recommendations on cases per Physician's determination and/or standards of care
  • Facilitate clinical messages and chronic condition management education to patients
  • Triage urgent same-day or double-booked appointment requests
  • Document progress notes in the electronic health record within 24 hours
  • Manage in-basket requests and respond to all requests in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of related Nursing experience
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Knowledge of Medical Chart Reporting
  • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
  • Patient oriented
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Working knowledge of Epic EMRs
