A healthcare network in New York City is actively seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Inpatient Oncology team.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week and rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
- Hours: 7am to 7:30pm or 7pm to 7:30am
- Setting: Acute Care
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor patients receiving chemotherapy, radiation, or other cancer treatments
- Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and supportive medications safely and accurately
- Manage central venous access devices and monitor for treatment-related side effects
- Provide pain management, symptom control, and emotional support to patients and families
- Educate patients about treatment plans, medication side effects, and self-care strategies
- Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Implement infection control measures and monitor for immunosuppression complications
- Document patient status, treatment responses, and education provided in the medical record
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Inpatient Oncology/Chemotherapy experience in an Acute Care setting
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS, OCN and Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certifications
- Experience in one of the following settings: Cardiac, Pediatric ICU, NICU, Pediatric Hematology Oncology, Pediatric Telemetry/Medical Surgical
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with EPIC Electronic Medical Records system
