A health services network in New York City is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing team at one of their inpatient forensic mental health facilities.

About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Days or Nights
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, including weekends (12-hour shifts)
- Hours: 7am to 7:30pm or 7pm to 7:30am
- Setting: Inpatient Forensic Psychiatry
Responsibilities:
- Complete an accurate assessment of the individual patient's need for treatment
- Communicate assessment findings to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals via the medical record, the nursing care plan, and the treatment plan
- Assess the need for patient and family instruction/teaching regarding the patient's medical/psychiatric diagnosis and identified medication/treatment regimen
- Formulate an individual written care of plan for each patient based upon comprehensive assessment findings, utilizing patient and family input
- Update the plan of care based on ongoing assessment
- Develop a patient education and discharge plan based upon assessment of patient/family needs and learning capabilities
- Establish priorities in patient care to utilize time in an efficient manner
Qualifications:
- 1 year of Clinical experience
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- AHA BLS certification
- Solid understanding of Forensic Mental Health populations
- Strong communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in a Behavioral Health setting
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- PMCS certification
- Familiarity with MAARS EMR system
