A New York City health services company is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team at one of their group homes in Brooklyn. In this role, the Registered Nurse (RN) will play a crucial role in improving the lives of residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm or 10am to 6pm
- Setting: Group Home
Responsibilities:
- Providing oversight for medical appointments and ongoing medical issues
- Monitoring and coordinating health services
- Training and overseeing staff in nursing-related tasks and documentation
- Monitoring care during hospitalizations
- Overseeing delegated nursing functions
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year experience working with IDD or Group Home populations
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Ability to train staff and oversee medical documentation
- Solid assessment and documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented
Desired Skills:
- OPWDD diabetes "train-the-trainer" certification
- Proficient in managing healthcare systems
