A healthcare organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse
(RN) to join their growing Gastro team in Queens and provide nursing care to patients.

About the Opportunity:
- Assignment Length: 3+ months (potential extension)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 5pm (one late night per week)
- Setting: Clinic
Responsibilities:
- Assist with applicant screening, selection, training, providing feedback for performance evaluations, and providing information related to employee discipline and termination of staff
- Review patient charts for missing labs, reports, and/or open orders, and review as part of care team huddles
- Prepare equipment and aid the Physician during the treatment, examination, and testing of patients
- Review the Electronic Health Record (EHR) active medication list with patients
- Contact patients with test results and provide recommendations on cases per Physician determination and/or standards of care
- Triage urgent same-day or double-booked appointment requests
- Document progress notes in the electronic health record within 24 hours
- Manage in-basket requests and respond to all requests in a timely manner
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 6+ months of Nursing experience
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification
- Experience in a Gastro / GI, Operating Room, Medical-Surgical, and/or PACU setting
- Nursing experience in an Ambulatory and/or Hospital setting
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to Infection Control, Environmental Safety, and Patient Confidentiality
- Knowledge of Medical Chart reporting
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Nursing
- Gastroenterology background
- Working knowledge of Epic EMRs
