A Long Island-based rehabilitation network is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team at one of their correctional facilities in Suffolk County.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Flexible
- Schedule: 5 shifts per week (no consistent schedule)
- Hours: 7am to 3pm or 3pm to 11pm ( 37.5 hours per week)
- Setting: Correctional Facility
Responsibilities:
- Conducting initial health assessments and daily sick calls for incarcerated individuals
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by facility healthcare providers
- Responding to medical emergencies and providing first aid and basic life support as needed
- Monitoring and managing chronic health conditions
- Collaborating with physicians, mental health professionals, and correctional staff to coordinate patient care
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification
- Ability to administer medications and treatments
- Strong communication skills
Desired Skills:
- 1+ year of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Psychiatric Nursing certification
- Experience with Chronic Condition Management
