A healthcare organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse for a Part-time position working with the ID/DD population. This role focuses on providing care management to individuals with developmental disabilities in a supportive group home environment.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, with the option for Saturdays
- Hours: 12 hours per week (6-hour maximum shift)
- Setting: Group Home / IRA
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating annual and routine medical services
- Supervising AMAP staff in medication administration and documentation
- Serving as a liaison for medical concerns between families and residential staff
- Completing all written reports and documentation to maintain compliance
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding healthcare concerns and diagnoses
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a Group Home/Residential Setting
- Current NYS nursing license and BLS
- Experience with OPWDD regulations
- Proficiency in nursing assessment skills in an autonomous environment
- Critical thinking skills for monitoring and analyzing medical data
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Empathy and compassion
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Certification in Developmental Disabilities Care
