A healthcare network in New York City is actively seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Labor & Delivery team.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week and rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
- Hours: 7am to 7:30pm or 7pm to 7:30am
- Setting: Labor & Delivery
Responsibilities:
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, contractions, and labor progression
- Administer prescribed medications and prepare the delivery area and equipment
- Provide continuous monitoring and support during labor and assist in vaginal or cesarean births
- Manage pain control and respond promptly to any labor complications or emergencies
- Assess the mother and newborn for recovery, vital signs, and signs of complications
- Support bonding, breastfeeding, and educate parents on postpartum and newborn care
- Accurately document all care, assessments, and interventions
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, patient-centered care
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a Labor & Delivery role/setting
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
Desired Skills:
- NRP certification
- Experience working with EPIC Electronic Medical Records system
