A recognized healthcare organization in New York City is actively seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to focus on patient care and outreach for their patients in Queens.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: 7 days per week
- Hours: 7pm to 7am (12-hour shifts)
- Setting : On-site and mobile operations
Responsibilities:
- Taking vitals (BP, temp, pulse, respirations)
- Observing and documenting symptoms
- Identifying urgent issues and escalating to an RN or provider
- Performing wound checks and basic wound care
- Administering medication within scope (non-IV)
- Providing health education and harm-reduction support
- Engaging with potentially unsheltered or crisis-affected individuals
- Supporting RN/provider in assessments and patient preparation
- Stocking supplies and maintaining clinical logs
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in a healthcare setting
- Appropriate healthcare education/degree
- Certifications related to clinical care, if applicable
- Proficiency in patient assessment and care
- Ability to administer medication safely
- Strong observational skills
- Compassionate and patient-centric approach
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team
Desired Skills:
- Advanced degree in Healthcare
- Specialized certifications such as CPR or First Aid
- Additional experience in Outreach Nursing
- Knowledge of Mobile Clinic Operations
