A health and human services organization in the Bronx, NY is currently seeking a Registered Nurse for their day program. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in both clinical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring comprehensive care for individuals with developmental disabilities.
About the Opportunity:
- Hybrid or Remote: No
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
- Hours: 8am to 3:30pm, occasionally until 4pm
- Setting: Day Program
Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:
- Serving as a member of the interdisciplinary team and coordinating health care services.
- Arranging medical services and issuing necessary referrals.
- Providing follow-up on medical problems for persons served.
- Conducting staff training in areas such as medication administration and infection control.
- Managing control of communicable diseases and performing immediate first aid as necessary.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse with a focus on developmental disabilities.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
- CPR certification.
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment for persons receiving services.
Desired Skills:
- 1+ years of experience in a community-based setting.
- Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
- CPR certification.
- Experience with adaptive equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
