A health system in Long Island is seeking a Pulmonology Critical Care Physician to join their team in Suffolk County.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Flexible outpatient scheduling
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Setting: Outpatient and inpatient
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat conditions such as Asthma, COPD, pneumonia, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, pulmonary hypertension, bronchiectasis, and pleural disease.
- Manage patients with complex cases in the outpatient clinic setting.
- Perform and interpret advanced procedures.
- Interpret results from diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and treat life-threatening conditions such as respiratory failure, shock, sepsis, and acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome.
- Oversee the management of patients requiring mechanical ventilation and other advanced life support techniques.
- Perform critical care procedures, including airway management/intubation, central and arterial line placement, hemodialysis access, and critical care ultrasonography/echocardiography to guide management and procedures.
- Participate in the education and supervision of medical residents, pulmonary/critical care fellows, and medical students.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including other specialists to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York
- Board Certified/Eligible in Pulmonology and Critical Care
