A healthcare system on Long Island is seeking a Pulmonary Critical Care Physician to join their team in Nassau County. This role offers a blended inpatient and outpatient clinical practice focused on diagnosing and managing complex respiratory disease in a high-acuity specialty hospital setting.

About the Opportunity:

Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient and outpatient pulmonary and critical care services across the continuum of care
- Evaluate and manage complex respiratory conditions, including acute respiratory failure, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, and pleural disease
- Interpret pulmonary diagnostics, including pulmonary function tests, imaging, and laboratory results
- Coordinate bronchoscopy and other pulmonary procedures when indicated and within privileging guidelines
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, critical care teams, nursing staff, and other specialists
- Provide hospital call coverage for pulmonary consults and emergencies
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Critical Care
- Medical degree and completed residency and fellowship training in Pulmonary Critical Care
- Experience providing inpatient pulmonary consultation and management in a hospital setting
- Ability to manage high-acuity respiratory and critical care patients
- Strong clinical documentation and electronic medical record proficiency
Desired Skills:
- Experience working in an ICU or step-down unit
- Bronchoscopy experience
- Exposure to cardiopulmonary specialty hospital practice
