A healthcare network in New York City is actively seeking a licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their team for a Remote / Part-time opportunity.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule : Part-time (2 to 3 days per month)
- Hours : 9am to 5pm
- Department : Student Health Services
Responsibilities:
- Perform examinations, diagnose illnesses and conditions, and prescribe a plan of corrective care, exclusively within their specialty area of practice in collaboration with a licensed physician.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs.
- Record findings, and formulate plans and a prognosis, based on the patient's condition
- Discuss cases with the Physician and other health professionals to prepare a comprehensive patient care plan.
- Submit the health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by a Physician
- Prescribe or recommend drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
- Refer patients to a Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment
- Perform other duties, as needed
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Administration, or Public Health acquired from an accredited college or university
- Active NYS licensed Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- Clinical Nurse Specialist certification in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health
- Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) licensure
Desired Skills:
- 1+ year of verifiable experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in a higher education setting
