A specialty engineering and automation services firm is seeking a Project Manager – Controls to lead projects for critical infrastructure and industrial clients.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday; occasional extended hours or weekend work may be required based on project deadlines

- Setting: Data Center, Industrial, & Construction environments
Responsibilities:
- Establishing project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards, and translating these into clear work statements for field teams
- Supervising staff or multiple Project Managers in daily project activities
- Directing pre-construction planning, including scoping tasks, scheduling, and anticipating potential challenges
- Procuring and coordinating materials, equipment, and subcontractors to maximize project profitability
- Monitoring costs and addressing variations to ensure financial success
- Overseeing subcontractor RFQ processes, awarding subcontracts, and managing subcontractor execution while maintaining professional relationships
- Maintaining customer satisfaction by addressing concerns, implementing corrective actions, and communicating project status
- Reviewing and following project documentation, including blueprints, drawings, budgets, deadlines, and sequences of operation
- Training and supervising Project Managers on company policies and project systems
- Representing the company and project in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
- Preparing monthly costing reports and managing financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, equipment rentals, income/expenses)
- Leading teams of Control Specialists, Installers, Engineers, Programmers, and office staff
- Developing and implementing control system plans tailored to customer needs
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Project Management experience in Controls, Mechanical/Electrical, or Critical Facilities projects
- Strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical Construction and the ability to read drawings and schematics.
- Experience managing Client Relationships and Project Documentation (RFIs, change orders)
- Knowledge of Strategic Planning, Resource Allocation, Leadership Techniques, and Staff Coordination
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, BIM360, and project management software platforms, such as Procore, CxAlloy, TouchPlan, and Spectrum
Desired Skills:
- 3 years of Project Management experience in Engineering, BMS/BAS, HVAC, Construction, or Critical Facilities Operations
- Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management and/or Engineering
- Familiarity with BMS/BAS, SCADA, and Low-Voltage Controls systems
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in Mission-Critical and/or Industrial environments
