A recognized nonprofit organization in New York City is actively seeking a new Program Coordinator for their Immigration Law Unit. In this role, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for supporting Attorneys, managing referrals, and ensuring smooth intake processes.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (35-hour work week)
Responsibilities:
- Supporting attorneys and non-detained teams
- Managing intake and referral processes
- Reviewing and triaging client information
- Maintaining data for grants management
- Monitoring communications from shared inboxes and voicemails
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with Administrative functions
- Solid understanding of Immigration Issues / Processes
- Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills:
- Master's Degree
- Bilingual (English and French or Spanish)
- Experience with Immigration Issues
- Experience with advocacy for low-income immigrants
- Compassion for working with Vulnerable populations
