A leading insurance company in Branchville, NJ is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Product Owner to join the team. ***This is a Hybrid opportunity requiring at least 2 days onsite in Branchville, NJ***
Responsibilities
- Support a large-scale system enhancement and modernization initiative
- Partner closely with the current Product Owner to learn the existing system and prepare to take on greater ownership of the product over time
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog and refine user stories to ensure clear business alignment
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to confirm requirements, review reports, and document new functionality
- Drive communication between business and technology teams, ensuring clarity on deliverables and priorities
- Apply Agile methodologies and leverage tools such as Azure DevOps and Jira to support delivery
- Serve as a billing subject matter expert, working closely with the billing IT team and vendor partners
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience as a Product Owner (Associate Product Owner or Business Analyst with strong Agile background also considered)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong understanding of Agile practices, backlog management, and user story development
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and/or Jira
- Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive learning mindset
Desired Qualifications:
- Background in insurance, P&C, banking, or health insurance
- Experience working with billing systems or supporting billing modernization projects
- Knowledge of acceptance criteria, user story refinement, and report validation
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, Agile environment
