A health services network in New York City is actively seeking a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to join their growing team in the Bronx on a Part-time basis.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: Part-time (20 hours a week)
- Setting: Inpatient Psychiatric Health Facility
Responsibilities:
- Perform physical therapy consultant services on site clients/ patients.
- Act as physical therapy consultant.
- Assess and evaluate client’s condition in order to develop a physical therapy treatment plan based upon a physician's request.
- Review clients treatment goals, treatment and medical history.
- Perform and interpret standard muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests.
- Administer appropriate physical therapy treatment when indicated.
- Prepare documentation of assessment, evaluation, delivery of treatment services and patient progress for client's medical record.
- Consult with client's treatment team as needed.
- Be under the supervision of Director of Medicine or the Director's designee.
- Conduct a brace/shoe clinic as needed, nerve, joint and functional ability tests.
- Administer appropriate physical therapy treatment when indicated.
- Prepare documentation of assessment, evaluation, delivery of treatment services and patient progress for client's medical record.
- Consult with client's treatment team as needed.
- Be under the supervision of Director of Medicine or the Director's designee.
- Conduct a brace/shoe clinic as needed.
- Evaluate patients for wheelchairs and adaptive equipment.
- Submit to the Medical Director and additional departments as deemed necessary: monthly statistical information including number of patients treated, number of physical therapy modalities administered, number of evaluations and number of admissions/discharges in the physical therapy services.
- Maintain a performance improvement program related to structure, process and outcomes
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience in a Clinical setting
- Active NYS Physical Therapist (PT) license
Preferred
- Experience providing physical therapy services in a mental health setting
