A well-known healthcare organization is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join their team.
About the Opportunity
- Shift: Days, Afternoons, or Nights
- Schedule: 5 shifts per week
- Hours: 8am to 4:30pm or 3:30pm to 12am or 12am to 8:30am
- Setting: Acute Care
Responsibilities:
- Fills prescriptions and patient orders, resolves discrepancies in patient therapy, and follows-up on problems
- Utilizes clinical data in evaluating physician orders to ensure appropriate therapy
- Provides and documents drug information and patient counseling
- Documents interventions, adverse drug reactions (ADRs), and medication errors
- Directs and utilizes personnel including technicians, aides and clerical staff
- Assists in the monthly inspection of the patient care units and the Pharmacy
- Maintains adequate medication supply in individual work area
- Operates and troubleshoots automated dispensing systems, as needed
- Advises prescribers on alternatives for non-formulary drugs
- Utilizes Outpatient and Inpatient computerized systems to enter and access patient care information
- Coordinates and analyzes statistics and/or clinical data
- Participates in quality management and utilization review programs
- Performs other duties, as needed
Qualification:
- 1+ year of experience as a Pharmacist in a Hospital and/or Retail setting
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
- An active NYS Pharmacist license
- Experience with a Pharmacy Dispensing system
- Sterile Processing experience
- IV room experience
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of an EMR (Electronic Medical Records system)
