A financial services organization is seeking a Payroll Specialist in San Antonio, TX. This role supports high-volume payroll operations and helps ensure accurate, timely processing, reporting, and employee support in a fast-paced environment.

About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Hours: Standard business
- Setting: Hybrid (after training; 3 days onsite)
Responsibilities:
- Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time
- Manage payroll transactions, including new hires, promotions, compensation changes, terminations, and timekeeping updates
- Review, audit, and reconcile payroll data, reports, and journal entries
- Handle payroll taxes, garnishments, year-end reporting, and related compliance requirements
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies with strong customer service
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience processing end-to-end Payroll in a high-volume environment
- Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll laws, payroll taxes, garnishments, W-2s, 940/941 processing, and payroll compliance
- Experience with payroll transactions, timekeeping, audits, reconciliations, and payroll reporting
- Proficiency in Excel
- Ability to manage sensitive information, competing priorities, and strict payroll deadlines
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
Desired Skills:
- Associate’s and/or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or ADP iHCM
- Knowledge of UK payroll, employment, and tax law
- Experience supporting military personnel, especially overseas
- Human Resources experience in Recruiting, Benefits, or Employee Relations
