Occupational Therapist – School-Based (NYC)
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapists (OTs)
to provide high-quality services within school settings across the Brooklyn. This role supports students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, helping them build the skills necessary for academic success, independence, and daily functioning. Responsibilities
Under supervision, the Occupational Therapist will:
- Conduct Evaluations
• Perform testing and evaluation for students presenting with motor, sensory, and developmental challenges in K–12 settings.
• Work with less complex cases while accurately identifying student needs and areas of functional impairment. - Analyze Clinical Findings
• Review and interpret medical and educational data to establish appropriate rehabilitation and educationally relevant goals. - Develop & Implement Treatment Plans
• Complete OT evaluations, assessments, and individualized treatment plans.
• Provide direct therapy using evidence-based practices tailored to student needs. - Plan Therapeutic Activities
• Develop programs incorporating therapeutic activities such as fine-motor tasks, arts and crafts, functional skill practice, and pre-vocational or vocational activities to support student development. - Maintain Documentation
• Prepare and maintain accurate medical and school-based records, progress notes, and required documentation in accordance with DOE and professional standards.
Qualifications
• Master of Science in Occupational Therapy
• New York State Occupational Therapy License
or
eligibility, including proof of passing the NBCOT examination
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Experience working with children or within educational settings preferred, but not required
