A total joint orthopedic practice in Alpharetta and Buford, Georgia, is actively seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in orthopedics for a 3-month locum assignment. This role involves providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing total knee and total hip replacement surgeries.
About the Opportunity:
- Contract Type: Locum Tenens
- Contract Dates: January 1, 2026 - March 31, 2026
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Setting: Outpatient Clinic
- Patient Volume: 15 patients or less per day
- Practice Call: Required 1 week every 4th week (no other on-call)
- Overtime: Paid after 24 hours daily (Fixed) and after 40 hours weekly (Fixed)
Responsibilities:
- Providing care and management for post-operative total knee and total hip replacement patients
- Conducting evaluations and preparing pre-operative patients for surgery
- Performing follow-up patient examinations and assessments
- Administering cortisone injections
- Accurately reading and interpreting X-rays
Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Experience in Orthopedics
- Ability to manage a surgical patient caseload from pre-op through follow-up
- Proficiency in performing joint injections
- Excellent clinical judgment and assessment skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience managing high-volume Orthopedic clinic patients with a focus on total joints (total knee and total hip)
