A leading healthcare system in New Jersey is currently seeking three Critical Care Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Physician Assistants (PAs) to provide coverage to the Cardiac ICU.
About the Opportunity:
• Setting:
Combined Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
• Schedule:
3 nights per week (6 PM to 6 AM), with flexible scheduling options
• Support Team:
Medical Residents, consulting physicians, intensivists (day), and on-call surgeons
• Patient Volume:
2 providers managing 24 patients
Responsibilities:
The Critical Care NP/PA will be responsible for:
• Managing patients in critical care
• Collaborating with Medical Residents, Intensivists, and Cardiologists
• Handling admissions, writing scripts, and making medical recommendations
• Maintaining communication with patients' Primary Care Physicians (PCPs)
• Performing procedural tasks and maintaining ventilator management
Qualifications:
• Master's degree required
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
• ACLS and BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a PA or NP
• Experience in ventilation management and critical care
• Procedural competency and a strong critical care background (CT surgery, surgical, or thoracic)
• Excellent communication and computer skills
Desired Skills:
