A healthcare organization in New York is currently seeking a Mental Health Specialist to join one of its outpatient facilities in Rockland County.
About the Opportunity:
- Hybrid or Remote: No
- Shift: Evening
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3 pm to 11 pm
- Hours: 3pm to 11pm (35 hours per week
- Setting: Outpatient Treatment Program
Responsibilities:
- Providing empathetic support on a crisis helpline
- Conducting screenings and risk assessments
- De-escalating crisis situations
- Connecting callers with community resources
- Making clinical decisions in emergencies
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in behavioral health settings
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
- New York State LMSW or LMHC required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EHR systems
- Strong clinical background and assessment skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage high-stress situations
- Flexibility to work varied shifts
- Maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards
Desired Skills:
- Experience in telehealth or call center settings
- Understanding of OMH, OPWDD, and OSAS eligibility standards
- Knowledge of crisis management techniques
- Ability to develop clinical treatment interventions
- Competency in documentation and record-keeping
