A healthcare organization in New York City is currently seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) to join their Pediatric Department at one of their Brooklyn offices.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 4pm (35-hour week; 1-hour unpaid lunch)
- Setting: Pediatrics Department
Responsibilities:
- Preparing patients and managing patient flow
- Taking vital signs and assisting with medical procedures
- Performing phlebotomy and EKG tasks
- Ensuring accurate record-keeping and data entry in EMR systems
- Assisting in coordinating patient care and providing excellent customer service
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA)
- High School Diploma / GED
- Medical Assistant (MA) certification
- Phlebotomy and EKG expertise
- Experience with EMR systems
- Knowledge of Medical terminology
- Microsoft Office proficient
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
- Bilingual
- CPR certification
