A healthcare network in New York City is seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) to join their team in Brooklyn, focusing on assisting the Physicians in an Orthopedic - Bone & Joint Center.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (flexible)
- Hours: 7am to 7pm (flexible 35 hours/week)
- Setting: Orthopedic - Bone & Joint Center
Responsibilities:
- Assisting physicians during patient examinations
- Performing phlebotomy and EKGs as ordered
- Taking vital signs and preparing patients for procedures
- Ensuring examination rooms are fully stocked and clean
- Facilitating patient flow and maintaining accurate records
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience
- High School Diploma / GED
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA)
- Proficiency in EMR systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
- Certification in Phlebotomy and EKG
- Bilingual (English and Cantonese/Mandarin, Spanish, or Russian)
- Experience with EMR systems
