A healthcare organization in New York City is seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) for a clinic-based role in Queens. This position supports both clinical and administrative functions in a patient-centered ambulatory care setting.

Responsibilities:
- Support patient flow by greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out, and communicating wait times
- Assist with appointment scheduling, insurance verification, forms processing, and document scanning
- Provide direct patient care support under clinical supervision, including vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and procedure assistance
- Handle phone calls, messages, referrals, reminders, and follow-up communications professionally
- Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, sterilize equipment, document care in the EMR, and help ensure records and lab results are complete
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or eligibility to sit for the national certification exam and pass within 18 months of hire
- Experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
Desired Skills:
- 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting
- Associate degree
- EPIC experience
