An ambulatory care practice is seeking a Medical Assistant in Bethpage, NY to support both clinical and administrative patient care in a fast-paced clinic setting. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with patients and care teams while contributing to efficient daily operations and high-quality service.

About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Hours: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM; occasional late evenings until 8:00 PM
- Setting: Clinic
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and guests, manage patient flow, and communicate wait times
- Support check-in, check-out, registration, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification
- Answer phones, take messages, and route communications appropriately
- Assist with direct patient care, including vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen handling, and procedure support
- Document patient information in the EMR, scan records, and help maintain clean, stocked exam rooms
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or eligibility to sit for the national certification exam and pass within 18 months of hire
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting
- Experience using an Electronic Medical Record system
Desired Skills:
- EPIC experience
- Associate degree
