An established healthcare organization is seeking a Medical Assistant in New York City, NY to support a busy primary care setting with both clinical and administrative patient care functions. This role is ideal for a certified MA who is comfortable working in an ambulatory environment and handling a mix of direct patient support, specimen collection, and care coordination tasks.

About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Hours: 9:00am-5:00pm, rotating to 11:00am-7:00pm every 3 weeks
- Setting: Onsite, Medical Office
Responsibilities:
- Support providers during patient visits by obtaining vital signs and documenting results in the electronic medical record
- Perform phlebotomy, collect and process specimens, and complete point-of-care testing and quality control procedures
- Assist with EKGs, patient screenings, room preparation, and procedural support as needed
- Handle clinical and administrative follow-up tasks such as prescription requests, prior authorizations, appointment scheduling, and record updates
- Maintain exam rooms, supplies, equipment logs, and other daily clinic operations in coordination with the care team
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a Medical Assistant (MA) in an Ambulatory and/or Primary Care setting
- High School Diploma / GED
- Medical Assistant certification from an approved school
- Current BLS certification
- Experience with vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care testing
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort learning new electronic medical record systems
Desired Skills:
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Experience supporting HIV, LGBT+, or other diverse adult patient populations
- Background in Behavioral Health or Psychiatric Care
- Familiarity with an ambulatory practice workflow
