A community health organization is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in Brooklyn, NY to support patient care in a busy ambulatory clinic setting. This role provides both clinical and administrative support, with a focus on rooming patients, performing point-of-care testing, assisting providers, and maintaining accurate documentation.

 About the Opportunity:
  • Shift: Day shift
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday
  • Hours: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, rotating to 11:00 AM-7:00 PM every 3 weeks
  • Setting: Onsite ambulatory clinic
Responsibilities:
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs, perform rooming, and support clinical intake during visits
  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures, including preparing supplies and acting as a chaperone as needed
  • Perform phlebotomy, collect and process specimens, and complete point-of-care testing and quality control tasks
  • Enter patient information into the electronic medical record and support prescription, referral, and prior authorization workflows
  • Maintain exam rooms, stock clinical supplies, schedule appointments, and support daily clinic operations and team huddles
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA)
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification
  • Current BLS certification 
  • Experience with vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, and rapid testing 
  • Experience working in an ambulatory or primary care setting 
  • Basic computer proficiency and comfort learning new EMR or telehealth applications 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
Desired Skills:
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Experience supporting LGBTQ+ patient populations
  • Experience with HIV, Medicaid-heavy, or underserved adult populations
  • Experience with pre-visit planning, preventive screenings, or quality improvement workflows
  • Familiarity with ECW or other electronic medical records
