A community services organization in New York City is actively seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a Part-time opportunity in Manhattan at one of their new shelters.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Part-time
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 2pm to 7pm (5 hours per day)
- Setting: Homeless Shelters
Responsibilities:
- Participating in weekly clinical meetings
- Managing medication systems and records
- Assisting clients with medication administration
- Administering medications and treatments as ordered
- Maintaining emergency equipment and medication stocks
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of clinical experience
- Active New York State Licensed Practical Nurse license
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
- Familiarity with EMR documentation
- Excellent oral and listening skills
- Ability to interface with clients and staff
- Strong adaptive skills in a dynamic environment
- Empathy and attention to detail
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field
- Experience with eClinicalWorks EMR system
- Experience working with homeless individuals
- Understanding of Mental Healthcare
