A health services network in New York City is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their Urology Department in Brooklyn.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (35 hours/week with 1 hour unpaid lunch)
- Setting: Urology Department
Responsibilities:
- Completing patient intake and answering nursing phone calls
- Mixing medications and scheduling follow-up appointments
- Taking vital signs and assisting with medical procedures
- Using EMR systems and maintaining patient records
- Assisting medical staff with treatment and diagnostics
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience
- Graduated from an approved Practical Nursing program
- Current NYS licensure as an LPN
- BCLS certification
- Experience with Venipuncture
- EKG certification
- Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office
- Ability to take vital signs and assist in medical procedures
- Strong multitasking and communication skills
- Reliability and team-oriented attitude
- Good interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in an Ambulatory Health facility
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Knowledge of Next Generation EMR systems
