A community services organization in New York City is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide patient-centered nursing care in a women’s and children’s behavioral health setting in the Bronx. This role supports health assessments, medication administration, and coordinated care for individuals in a residential treatment environment.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day or Evening
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (with every other weekend)
- Hours: 7am to 3pm or 8am to 4pm or 3pm to 11pm or 4pm to 12am
- Setting: Residential treatment facility
Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive and restorative nursing care under the supervision of the Medical Director and Registered Nurse
- Conduct health assessments for new clients and review medical histories submitted through intake
- Administer medications, maintain accurate medication records, and follow established medication protocols
- Perform clinical tasks such as vital signs, phlebotomy, and lab collection procedures
- Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, and communication with Physicians, Specialists, and Interdisciplinary team members
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED and Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- Active, unrestricted NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Current NYS-approved Infection Control certification
- Training in Chemical Use, Abuse, and Dependence-specific to the services provided
- Knowledge of Substance or Alcohol Dependence and Abuse populations
- Must obtain mandated reporter training before the hire date
Desired Skills:
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Experience in Women’s Health, Family Health, or Holistic Care
- Experience using SigmaCare or NextGen electronic health record systems
