A health services organization in New York City is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN to support a veteran-focused treatment program.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday-Friday (Wednesdays required)
- Hours: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM; Wednesdays 11:00 AM-7:00 PM
- Setting: On-site, short-term treatment setting
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care under the direction of the RN and/or physician
- Record and monitor vital signs, assess patient concerns, and support clinical intakes
- Administer injections, perform basic testing, and assist with procedures as needed
- Document patient history, care provided, and updates in the medical record
- Support wound care, medication coordination, chart preparation, and other clinical tasks
Qualifications:
- Active New York State LPN licensure
- BLS certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduation from a formal technical or vocational LPN program
- At least 1 year of LPN experience working with clients with substance use disorder and/or serious mental illness
- Computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health records
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience in addiction, psychiatric, or mental health care
- Experience working with methadone-related services
- Spanish language proficiency
- Familiarity with serving diverse populations in a treatment environment
- Strong bedside manner and adaptability in a high-touch clinical setting
