A nonprofit services organization in New York City is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a residential treatment setting in the Bronx. This role supports women and children through health assessments, medication administration, care coordination, and follow-up services.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (with every other weekend)
- Hours: 1pm to 9pm
- Setting: Residential treatment facility
Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive and restorative nursing care under the supervision of medical leadership and registered nursing staff.
- Conduct health assessments for new clients and review referred client medical histories.
- Administer medications, maintain accurate medication records, and follow facility medication protocols.
- Perform technical nursing tasks such as vital signs, phlebotomy, and lab specimen collection.
- Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, and communication with outside healthcare providers and interdisciplinary team members.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and graduation from an accredited Nursing program
- Active and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse license in New York State
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current New York State-approved Infection Control certification
- Training in chemical use, abuse, and dependence specific to the services provided
- Knowledge of substance use and alcohol dependence populations
Desired Skills:
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Experience in Family Health, Women's Health, or Holistic Care
- Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHRs), such as SigmaCare or NextGen
- Familiarity with Residential or Addiction Treatment settings
- Mandated reporter training
