A nonprofit services organization in New York City is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work with the ID/DD population at one of their schools in the Bronx.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 7am to 3pm or 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm (flexible)
- Population: 24 students
Responsibilities:
- Schedule appointments with Primary Care Providers and appropriate medical specialists
- Support school staff with health documentation, compliance audits, and reporting
- Communicate with families and interdisciplinary teams when appropriate
- Make appropriate referrals for dental, hearing, vision screening and other identified problems
- Taking vitals
- Handling other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Active NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Must pass required background checks (including SCR)
Desired Skills:
- 1+ year of experience working with children or adults with Intellectual / Developmental Disabilities
- Experience with School-based Nursing
